I love the 1960s. If I could go back in time, I would go back to the 1960’s. I just love the pop culture associated with the era.
James Bond started. And that gave way to a lot of cool spy series (The man from Uncle, The Avengers, Mission Impossible, etc) but it was also an era of cool music.
I love the music of the decade, too. The Beatles were probably the defining band of the decade. Everyone seemed to like the beatles.
And that takes me to song 4 on the Inspiration playlist (there is a method in my waffling 😂) and this is “Imagine” by John Lennon.
I have adored this song since I was born. Well, probably not that long, but I have always loved it. I think I am a bit of a dreamer. Why can’t we all live in peace? Why can’t we accept each others differences and start to compromise. It feels especially meaningful now, with the sad state of the world.
I know that it’s a bit of a cliché, but I do believe that the most important things in life isn’t how much money you have or how big your house/ car is. No, I believe the most important things in life are being kind, compassionate, thoughtful and caring.
I also believe that, sometimes, one person can make a difference. They can inspire others to want to make a difference, too.
To quote the song, “You may say I’m a dreamer”, but I’d rather dream and believe that I can make a difference than being cynical and think it’s pointless to even try.
