I grew up with music always being on. Sometimes the radio and TV were on together (don’t ask me how that worked, I was a child!) so to say that I developed a love of music at a young age, would be an understatement.
My mum listened to music from the 1960s and 1970s, when she was growing up and going out, and I love music from those eras, too. I love all kinds of music.
However, and the point of this post, is that my mother loved Englebert Humperdinck, and I always thought his music was a bit….cheesy. However, I’ve recently found myself, VOLUNTARILY, listening to his music. And discovering that I know every word of his songs.
There’s even an episode of the old TV series, “The Love Boat” which features Englebert. How do I know this stuff!
But I do love this song, and it has such sad lyrics.
